Keep Moving – You are Somebody!!

Inspirational words/exhortation “Keep Moving” by Revd Martin Luther King Jnr (transcribed from a video)

This is the most important and crucial period of your lives…some of the things that should be in your life’s blueprint, you must have

1.A deep belief in your own dignity, in your own worth in your own somebodiness. Don’t allow anybody to make you feel you are a nobody. Always feel that you count.
Always feel that you have worth and always feel that your life has ultimate significance.

2.As a basic principle the determination to achieve excellence. In your various fields of endeavour are going to be deciding as years, days unfold what you will do in life, what your life’s work will be. Once you set out, do it and do it well. Be a bush if you can’t be a tree. If you can’t be a highway just be a trail. If you can’t be the sun just be a star, for it isn’t by size that you win or fail, be the best of whatever you are.

3.A commitment to the eternal principles of beauty, love and justice. Life has been for none of us a crystal stair but we must keep moving, we must keep going. If you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl. But by all means keep moving!
#keepmoving

When I saw the video with above inspirational words by Revd Martin Luther King Jane on a friend’s Facebook page in March this year, it reminded me of a poem I wrote last year:

Ability To Be A Somebody

A nobody can become a
somebody some day.
If not today or tomorrow it
shall be one day, ’cause
everybody has the ability.

It is possible if you do not lose focus or direction but set your sights on your vision, based on wisdom from the Divine Book of instruction.

Use the key of divine knowledge to open doors. Advance at the beat of the sound of your vision calling,
the pace is set by the rhythm of the songs of your heart resounding.

In the ascent to be a somebody, joys and trials are unwrapped as gifts, moulding for you a heart of integrity.

The blessed vision is a reflection of the somebody you have aimed to be beckoning as from the sky,
full of wisdom and knowledge of the Most High.

Be a somebody today to help a nobody find their way some day.

The Sky’s the Limit!

Exhortation/Poem:
In Christ you and I can do all things! praise the LORD! This is because we have all things that pertain to life & godliness. The weapons of our warfare (God’s Word and Spirit) are not carnal but mighty through God for the pulling down of demonic strongholds!

Know therefore that nothing can separate you from God nor His divine will, not even tribulation. Remember afflictions are a stepping stone to the fulfilment of God’s glorious plans, a time to learn how to rise up in strength through God’s Word and prayer. A time to cultivate intimacy with God, trusting that what He said in His word is true; He will never leave you know forsake you. Jesus resolved not to lose any of those that His Father has given him, and that includes you and I. Praise the LORD!

Brethren, God has us in the palm of His hands and He even knows the amount of affliction we would go through and declared through the finished work at Calvary that we are more than a conqueror!

Remember, the sky’s the Limit for you this week and every week to follow in Jesus’ mighty name!! Blessings galore Deborah Esther x

✝Poem: The Sky’s the Limit

Ignoring crucial matters
is as swimming in
shallow waters.
Fear of the advance
is as living within
enemy’s borders.

Our mandate is
to delve deeper.
The sky’s he limit.
We look to see,
Listen to hear
and read to understand.

When we are done,
we act to accomplish.

A special people,
with gifts and potential.
Born with plenty,
we are determined to
utilise all and return
to dust empty.

EXHORTATION – A Christlike Self Perspective: Never disabled, forever unstoppable

Let nothing & no one call you “disabled” (incapable, unable, unworthy, insignificant etc…)

Will you allow others to label you and so define you? Will you accept their definition of you as opposed to God’s ? The negative definition that seeps into not only your conscious mind but also your subconscious, resulting in self limitation, under-valuing your capabilities or even prevents you from seeing what you are capable of!

The state of being “disabled” whether physical or spiritual is a matter of perspective. If you have a life in God, one of your key taglines should be “I am always capable through Christ”. Don’t be like a prisoner
-who has had their chains removed but is still standing in a bound position.
-whose prison doors are open but he cannot see it and is still sitting in the prison. Jesus came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61).

When in Christ, there is nothing you cannot achieve in life, regardless of your

✝️physical state, Nick Vujicic is an example, he said
“I don’t believe I am disabled. Yes, I may have no limbs, but no big deal. It doesn’t matter how I look—
it’s WHO I AM and WHAT I CAN DO that matters!”
(in picture below) check out his life story and achievements to the glory of God.

✝️youth: David who became king of Israel was a youth when God started to use him. By God’s power and might he was able to fight against the lion and the bear while tending to his sheep in the wilderness.
He developed the “I can” self perspective that was from God, so that the giant enemy of Israel, Goliath feared by adults of the army of Israel was “chicken feed” in his eyes.
God brought David up to believe he could do all things through God who strengthened him. This ought to minister to us as to how to bring up children or young people. The perspective of one’s self is so important and will determine the course of one’s life.
In our day, God is using young people mighty as it was prophesied by the prophet Joel (Joel 2:25).

✝️little or no education: God gives wisdom and ability to excel for His sake and there are many cases of men and women of God who have not had the privilege of being educated at all or have very elementary education, who are doing exploits for God while demonstrating His wisdom and anointing as they do so.

Let us always see ourselves as children of God who can do all things through Him and Him alone.
Jesus said
“5I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned.”(John 15:5-6 KJV)

It is time for us to discard limiting self-perspectives and live in the reality of Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Blessings Deborah Esther ❤️

Created Unique & for His Purposes

img_3190My mother tried to abort me, but did not succeed, people have rejected and wounded me but I am still standing. Praise be unto God who has painstakingly revealed to me that He loves me with an everlasting love, saved my life, created  me unique and for His glorious purposes. What ever your story, sovereign God forknew it and allowed it as He sets the course of your life. He intends to get the ultimate glory out of every situation in your life. Do you let Him?

Created Unique & for His Purposes:

No one is an accident, if you have been told that you were unplanned as a child and so were conceived by accident or you came into this world as a result of rape, I have a message for you: how you came into this world does not determine your worth or significance.

While your mother and father, or one parent voiced any of the afore mentioned reasons why you are on earth to you, that was their opinion based on the facts that actually happened and if you are still suffering the effects of being told such details of how you came into being, may our God of compassion heal you completely in Jesus’ name.

I was born out of wedlock and my mother attempted to abort me. She told me in the 1980s “your dad said we were just playing, but despite several attempts to abort you, you just would not die and a nurse advised me to stop doing so. I listened to her” She did not choose to tell me, my sibling told me about her attempt to abort me and when I questioned her she confirmed it and gave me further details. Indeed I am very much alive, while I have been through much rejection and afflictions, I have along the way gone through recurring healing and deliverance and also chosen to forgive my parents. This is because God has imparted revelation and understanding that He saved me from being aborted, from eternal damnation and is in absolute control of every aspect of my life. He had predestined plans for me; in time I came to know what these plans were and I am now living in the fullness of most of them. To God be the glory, great things He has done!

Our sovereign God who is all knowing, all seeing and all powerful foreknew how you would come into this world. Man has free will, but God is the creator of the following process as all things: conception, fetus formation and the gestation period until birth. He formed you in your mother’s womb and knew what you would look like.
God gave you your unique finger prints, DNA, iris and palm prints among other biometrics.

“13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, [and] curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all [my members] were written, [which] in continuance were fashioned, when [as yet there was] none of them.” (Ps. 139:13-16 KJV)

God chose who your parents would be and where you would live (Acts 17:26)

If you have been wounded by your parents because of the way they have treated you or the words they have said, forgive them and if they are still alive let them know they are forgiven and reach out to them with the love of the LORD. Whatever they put you through, they were chosen by God to be your parents and you are required by God to honour them.

What a privilege and joy to know that as Christians our destiny was outworked such that at some stage in our lives we became children of God. Just think our names were written in the Lamb’s book of life before the foundation of the world. So if someone tells you that you were unplanned, an accident or even attempts to make you feel insignificant because you do not in their opinion conform to the norm (again in their opinion, not God’s as regards what the norm is!) be reminded that not only were you created by the one and only Master Creator, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, you were chosen even before your parents met and conceived you as one of those who would know God and serve Him through Christ.
“16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16 KJV).

Our unique destiny path results in us meeting others in the family of God who have also come from their unique backgrounds and journey.

The Apostle Paul (1 Corinth. 12:12-26) used the following analogy : As each human part is necessary for the function of the human body as a whole so too each member of the Body of Christ is needed for the function of the whole. The different parts of the human body are unique, an eye does not look like or function as the ear, nor the foot as the arm but they are nevertheless necessary and important parts of the human body. Likewise in the Body of Christ we do not look alike naturally nor have the same giftings and callings because we are unique natural and spiritual individuals but each of us are necessary and important parts of the body of Christ.

When we are new believers in Christ, there is a new destiny path as a member of the kingdom of God which again as our pathway before is unique or unlike that of anyone else. It is only when we stay close to God, in obedience to His word and in total surrender to Him that we are able to fulfill our destinies as children of God.

Brethren let us maintain a life of reverential fear of the Lord and engage in spiritual check ups periodically along our journey as purposeful individuals for God.
If we reach the stage in our Christian lives when we start thinking we are too strong in the LORD  to fall into temptation or to be deceived then we are in trouble because pride has taken root.
“Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” (Prov. 16:18 KJV)

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6)

In our spiritual check up, we humbly pray as David did

“23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:24And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24 KJV)
“12…cleanse thou me from secret [faults].13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:12-14 KJV).

Not long before Jesus died he prepares his disciples for his departure with comforting and uplifting words. What he says in the first couple of verses of John 14 which has often been missed confirms that we are individually regarded as unique in God’s eyes.
Meaning? Well you and I have our own mansions built for us because Jesus said “in my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2 KJV)

While we are with other believers in Christ a collective redeemed people of God destined to worship Him day and night in heaven, we are individually heirs with Christ and therefore kings and priests unto God (Rev 1:6/5:10). The preparation of Christ following his ascension is so that we would be received by Him at the end of the age as kings and priests unto God befitting our individual restful mansions. This is as opposed to masses of God’s people abiding in what looks like dormitories. It is a literal fact as Jesus interjected “…if it were not so, I would have told you…” (John 14:2 KJV).

It is also very exciting and the ultimate assurance we need that even while undergoing a unique and purposeful life on earth designed to glorify God, awaiting every true child of God is a welcome by Him which honors them. Someone might say “is it necessary?! The fact that we are with Him in itself is all that matters”.

My brothers and sisters, we serve a God who loves not only to tell us He loves us but also to show His appreciation for our purposeful lives in His regard by rewarding us in unique ways. Jesus emphasised the truth of what he was saying by adding “if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you into myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. (John 14:3 KJV)

Yes, our Lord Jesus will come back to us and take us where he is and while we know our spiritual position while on earth is as ones raises up with Christ and seated in the heavenly realms with God in Christ (Eph 2:6), we are assured that we will be there with him physically. So let us rejoice, eagerly awaiting that day. Praise the LORD!

You are blessed, determine to stay blessed.

Prophetic reflection & encouragement: You,People & Your Dream/ Destiny Fulfillment

Introduction:

In the early hours of this morning I felt led to write this (was not planned or structured…just written in prose as it is). I have a strong sense that this is truly a word for many out there, especially as we prepare to enter into a new year (equal new era) be blessed!
You, People & Your Dream/Destiny Fufillment:
One of the signs of the times we live in is that when one is excelling there are few people in one’s current and past life who want to acknowledge this fact, in fact many shun or avoid the one excelling or achieving positive things as though they were a plague and cannot be approached.
This is rooted in gross insecurities among people which is also a sign of the times we live in; people are grossly infirmed with a lack of self worth, low self esteem and jealousy, so that the fangs of rage are exposed as as the horns of a wild bull positioned for the attack when others they know, even close friends excel, receive trophies on their mantel pieces or become fruitful for all to see.

Will a word of recognition, acclamation or praise for the achiever escape their lips? Will they be found near or far? No instead many escape, hide or pretend the new era of the achiever does not exist, wishing they were losers or back to the state when there was no fear that they would rise or excel, when it was easier to be their mate, when they were mere no-bodies in lives of mediocrity or triviality. Even critical thoughts against them emerge “look at them with their airs & graces!” “Who do they think they are?!” and fumes of anger penetrate the air at the mention of their name and “stop” signs that are a “don’t go there” reminder are seen before one’s eyes when they visualise the person.

However if you were in dire straits, are afflicted day and night these same people inclined to shun you in times of your pathway to achievement will run to your aid with kind offers of help and demonstrations of love and offering wise counsel. That is their tendency, seeking out, looking for the afflicted or down and out to show them they care. Some are genuine but many are deceivers for their motives are not selfless, nor are they rooted in the fact that they love God and desire to demonstrate His love to others, nor do they love you. It is because they love themselves (yes again a sign of the times, a great multitude of lovers of selves…) to the point that their desire to self exalt, feed and so inflate a deflated ego or self worth is done at the expense of one they appear to want to help, love or care for in their distress. In the secret place of a warped mind, there is a sign of contentment, a whisper of glee “Ah at least I am not like them”, “I am in a better place than he/she is”.

The aforementioned is not the pitiful state of every interpersonal relationship, however it is in this context that I am inclined to write; Should a man or a woman stop achieving and excelling because there is a sea of opposing crowds, false friends and two faced hanger ons?

Should they give up on fulfilling dreams because those they called friends and even family play the blind, deaf and mute with some even acting as strangers no where to be found?

My answer, my counsel is NO and NEVER. Let them go for those who want to take flight from your life, in fact open the door for them and move things out of their way, so they can depart very quickly with ease. You have much to contend with in your journey and worrying about or being offended by such as these is a waste of time and energy that need to be reserved for that which is important in terms of the process for achieving your goals. Ensure you stay in a spirit of praise, worship and thanksgiving ensuring your conscience in clear if not be quick to repent and forgive so that nothing stops your partnership with God to fulfill your destiny for the glory of God.
The journey to fulfil your destiny, achieve what you have set your heart to based on prophetic words or dreams may be a road of solitude and suffering, but rest assured it is temporary. The joy and glory reaped in times of success far our way the afflictions and loneliness. Many shall benefit from your joy and achievements and along the way and in that place of fulfilment, a new crowd shall emerge, ones with whom you walk, laugh, sing and rejoice. A people who will be as family shall be an added prize. These have walked a similar walk and as you have a genuine cup running over of empathy, compassion and encouragement to be poured out to a world in need.
In the journey of life some people will always be as car brakes and stop lights while others will be as fuel and accelerators for the advance. Therefore come what may regardless of how people act, react or what they say, take hold of those dreams and visions from deep within and received from God’s written as well as prophetically uttered word and arise and ascend to the place of glorious fulfilment.

God bless you

The Write Life Story

img_2401

Man is his brother’s keeper,
created to love as he
craves to be loved,
to care as he desires
to be cared for.

If by my obedience to serve
with the pen others are awakened
to serve society productively
and acquire the zeal
of interconnectivity, working
for a world void of
injustice and inequality,
then to my joy their works
become the invisible
pages in my life’s
complete story.

This poem was written as part of the introduction (in “Welcome & About us” page) to this blog: Human Life, Racial & Social justice blog, started October 2016.

It is a blog about people, their personal and interpersonal issues and relations. It is also about their general everyday life which I observe and feel led to write about.

It is also about people’s relationship with God and His with them. God upholds or values and prioritises human beings above all His other creatures after all we are created in His image. Indeed what a magnificent image that is !!!

He therefore calls us to love and value ourselves and others in the same way as he does.

You are not who you say you are! Why? You are the wrong race!

Title (Yahoo news): It happened again another flight crew cannot believe a black woman is actually a doctor.

My note: This is what black people go through regularly. Yes in the 21st century; being disbelieved or mistrusted in relation to their abilities, capabilities and intelligence, solely because of the colour of their skin.

In this article from Yahoo.com a black woman doctor was told to sit down while two nurses were allowed to tend to the sick person in flight. It happens everywhere not just in America.

I thank God for the Holy Spirit who gives all races without partiality the ability of self encouragement, perseverance, inner peace, hope and joy in the face of adversity without which many faced with such issues on a daily basis would not have the strength to amount to anything, let alone excel to become doctors, lawyers etc…

Title (Yahoo news): It happened again another flight crew cannot believe a black woman  is actually a doctor.

Link:https://uk.news.yahoo.com/it-happened-again-another-delta-flight-crew-cant-believe-a-black-woman-is-actually-a-doctor-205952003.html?post_id=169351413413443_341806436167939#_=_

This is an excerpt of Ashley Denmark’s account from Yahoo news:
“As I settled in to watch a movie and read a book, about 1 hour into our flight over the intercom, a flight attendant requested a doctor or nurse to report to front of cabin to assist a passenger. When duty calls it calls – even if you are 30,000 feet in air…”

And she continued on social media :

“The flight attendant didn’t believe I was a doctor and told me to have a seat while 2 nurses provided medical care to the passenger.”

It was merely a few days ago when Tamika Cross, MD, another young, black physician described a very similar situation happening on a different Delta flight. In Cross’s situation, the passenger was unresponsive, a seemingly life-threatening situation in which every second counted.

What exactly is it that inspires seemingly normal people to prevent qualified individuals from offering their professional assistance? In life-or-death situations, do we really have time to be prejudiced?

A report by the Washington Post, points to the phenomenon of “implicit bias” as the culprit. “Overt bias certainly exists, but there is also a growing body of scientific literature that’s revealing an even more uncomfortable truth,” according to the article. “Deep-seated unconscious biases help steer our thinking and behavior — even when we don’t realize it.”

One can only hope that by sharing their stories, women like Cross and Denmark can begin to receive the respect that others — particularly older, white men — enjoy without needing to jump through hoops to prove themselves.

Denmark reiterated this hope, telling Yahoo Beauty:

“I share my story to bring awareness that the face of medicine is changing — doctors can be young, female, or come from different ethnic backgrounds. My hope is that Delta takes into account my unfortunate experience and prevents a similar occurrence from happening again. Despite this experience, I have remained focused and will continue to do so, striving to be the best physician, mother, and wife I can be.”

And to those last words, we’re happy to give her more than the benefit of the doubt.

Who I’m I ? It’s a matter of perspective!

(Introduction
Often times we erroneously see ourselves the way others or society sees us first and foremost and then we act accordingly to please others or fit into the status quo created for us personally in terms of either our gender, social or economic status, race or nationality.
From a Christian perspective this poem and the prophetic discourse, counsel and encouragement derived from it express the importance of defining who you are according to how you see yourself, looking within as opposed to through the eyes of others. As one with a testimony of having learnt to see herself through Christ, I encourage others to  accept and love themselves as well as cherish whatever they have whether much or little. You will be a better person for it and it will reflect in how you relate to and treat others. If you are a Christian you have the daily blessed assurance through God’s word (the Bible) that He loves you with an everlasting love and through Him you find your worth.

(I) Poem: The Streer Dweller / (II) Prophetic discourse, counsel & encouragement derived from the Poem.

(I) Poem: The Street Dweller

They call me “Homeless”
but don’t care to ask my name.
I prefer “Street Dweller”
’cause the streets are my home.

They call me purposeless
but life on the streets spell
“Survival of the fittest” that
makes me far from useless.

They call me hopeless
but I have hope as I am
streetwise.
From place to place I trek,
I know bins full of food,
and outside which shop to beg.
Bus drivers know me,
turn a blind eye when I hop
on for free rides with my dog Fred.

They call me senseless
but I put to use the common
sense given by the Most High
when I look to the sky and
can tell if it shall rain or shine.
Then I know where to lay
my head; in someone’s shed, a
fold up box, open air?
anywhere as long as it
is miles away from a fox!

I am a street dweller.
Yes, among life’s fittest.
A survivor, that’s who I am.

(II) Prophetic discourse, Counsel and Encouragement derived from Poem.

One who lives in a home, has an address to go to can easily think “why would one want to live on the streets! Whatever name one chooses to be called “Homeless” or “Street Dweller” does not change the fact that they are in an undesirable status in life!”

Such a thought is not necessarily malicious, most people prefer a roof over their heads, a place to call home. However as we can see from this poem, the street dweller is expressing how they perceive their situation or circumstance which is contrary to how people, to his or her knowledge perceive it.

The street dweller has accepted their status as their reality. The circumstance or situation which resulted in them being as such is neither here nor there, they are proud to be living on the streets and making good of their life on the streets. They have learnt to survive and have dignity and self respect. Their descriptive prose is also saying loud and clear: this is who I am, take it or leave it! They actually compel one to respect them.

A number of reflections and lessons can be derived from this poem as well as words of counsel and encouragement or exhortation, here are some:

If people superficially put you in a box, assume things about you or stereotype you because of how society and others perceive or treat “people like you” i.e your economic, social status and race or cultural background, it is actually only you and you alone who can dismantle those superficial or stereotypical assumptions about who they think you are or how they expect you to behave.

Not that you have to make a conscious effort to change their minds or attitudes about you; Your manner of self-perception, self-relation, self-definition and self-respect in relation to who you are and your circumstance will greatly influence how people treat and perceive you.

Despite being born as a member of a family you are a unique being.Unique also within one human race and within diverse racial or ethnic groups, social and economic group of the human race. There is only one you!

However if you find that despite being unique and basically your true self within and still feel unaccepted by some because of your social and economic status, nationality, race or cultural background there is nothing you can do about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. However you have to make sure that you stay true to who you are as a person and not be driven to say things or act in ways that agree with any false labels about who you are or what people think you are supposed to be.

People may not understand your circumstances or even know all the background experiences and elements which have made you who you currently are, but learning to connect with your true self within, loving and respecting who you are without comparison to anyone else will constantly shatter any adverse effects that negative words and actions may otherwise have on you.
There is a scripture in the bible “Love your neighbour as yourself”.

Self love and respect results in expressions of love and respect towards others also because you inevitably empathise, have compassion for or appreciate other human beings more. As much as you cultivate positive self worth so too you see the bigger picture; the world is full of people who are worthy to be loved and respected as you are. It is therefore impossible for people who have a habit of putting people down or taunting and backbiting to befriend you or be among your close circle of friends.

In the context of the Street Dweller’s message, being a survivor is being an overcomer from having your worth defined by how others perceive you. Whatever your status or circumstance in life, ensure that you can say like the Street Dweller:
“Yes, among life’s fittest.
A survivor, that’s who I am.”

Cycles of the Beloved’s Life

Beloved of God,
The cycle of abuse,
cycle of offence
are cycles to refuse.
The cycle of restraint,
cycle of defeat
are cycles to resist.
For he who saved you,
Yeshua your Lord
has planned for you
peaks and troughs
for victorious
outcomes to the glory
of God.
Up times are times
to praise God with
hands raised and
doing His bidding,
with hearts grateful
and testifying.
Down times are not
times to rot
but to access what
you’ve got,
and to thank God,
He has saved and
blessed you who
was once lost.
The cycle of peace,
cycle of hope,
are cycles of God to embrace.
The cycle of sanctification,
cycle of breakthrough,
are cycles of God’s restoration.
Beloved of God,
in the cycles of life
“God causes everything to work together for the good
of those who love God and are called according to his
purpose for them.”(Romans 8:28)
